Mini watercolor banner

I wanted to create something new and fresh to decorate the wall in my craft room where I work and  spend most of my time. It’s important to me that I’m able to catch little glimpses of creativity and color about the room – it inspires me when I’m feeling stuck and it always brightens my day.

So after discovering a few instagram videos using a similar technique, I decided to try out this simple but effective watercolor technique. Here’s a quick video showing you how I used waterbased brush makers to color on to plastic film. I then use my fingers to flick the color with water, to blend. I LOVE the varying sizes of drops you get when you use your fingers instead of a spray bottle.
After sprinkling the color with water, I place a cardstock mini banner over the top and wipe over the back of it with my finger then dry with a heat tool.
When each banner is dry, I used some glitter gold letter stickers to spell out my phrase; make every day. Make something every day? Make every day count/matter? Yes and yes. All of it.
I punched small holes in each corner of the banners and strung it on to twine for hanging.
Here are the product details with affiliate links. Thank you for supporting my blog! The pens I used are not sold on Amazon, but these are similar and will work in the same way. The gold glitter stickers were by Sticko from Joann’s, but don’t seem to be available online.
